Welcome to Hear Me Write.
I am currently Studying Communications and Media at Swinburne University. I want this site to be an extension of that, to practice my writing and improve my skills. I am left leaning, well a member of the ALP, though I will do my best to write with objectivity. I am hoping, through this site, to meld my life experiences into a new career writing to inform and entertain… Your constructive critique is not only welcome, but actively encouraged.
I have Type II Bipolar Disorder, which comes with the highs and lows, and anxiety that can drive you nuts! I mention this, as mental health, and in particular suicide prevention, are subjects that I am passionate about. So I chat about my issues in the hope that my small effort will remove the stigma of mental illness, enabling those suffering in silence to seek help. Let’s face it; if you have the flu, you go to the doctor! This is no different. It’s an illness, and though it may not be cured (yet), it can be managed.
In a past life I dabbled in a bit of this and that.
I am a Nurse and a former Fire and Rescue officer.
I was, still am I suppose, a professional dance photographer. A small example of my work can be found at The Art of Shadow and Light. I don’t photograph weddings, not because I don’t enjoy a good wedding, but because I am a lousy wedding photographer. They give me the heebie-jeebies.
Thank you for stopping by.
